The Nykaa founder and promoter is now India’s first generation wealthiest woman with a net worth of $7.7, surpassing Kiran Mazumdaar Shaw, the founder of Biocon. Falguni Nayar is India’s second most wealthy promoter after Savitri Jindal, chairperson of OP Jindal group. Nykaa is truly an Indian born, Indian owned and Indian managed company and like a dream come true not only for Falguni but for ‘aatmanirbhar bharat’ as well.

The story behind Nykaa is as interesting as its meteoric rise to become a unicorn and hit the stock exchange. Nykaa’s share got listed with an overwhelming response. Falguni Nayar quit her job as an investment banker to create this .com venture which revolutionized the way make up products were bought. Established in 2013, Nykaa features a wide range of makeup, skin care, hair care, luxury and other wellness products comprising 1500 brands. Since 2015, Nykaa also started manufacturing it’s own range of products.

An aluminus of IIM, Ahemdabad, Falguni quit her job at Kotak Mahindra where she was the MD. Nayar was already past 50 when she established Nykaa. Falguni is a live example of defying age and achieving the pinnacle even after crossing the mid life mark.
