We travel to ‘see’ the beauty around. What if nature has not endowed one with vision, travel is no longer a restriction for visually impaired now. Travel can be a stimulating experience for all the senses. However, this is easier said than done. But, fortunately, this lacuna in travel sector is now well addressed with specialised tours being organised for visually challenged people who want to ‘see’ the world on their own.
“Earlier, the travel for Visually Impaired (VI) was not organized as they used to accompany their kith and kin while going on an excursion. However, in recent times, the travel and tour industry is taken an interest in organizing special tours for VI only, and Rising Tour and Travel is a pioneer in this field. The industry is continuously bracing up for such specialized packages and helping VI and physically challenged in exploring beautiful destinations which are also safe for them. Besides, offering other quality services to them, what more helps VIs in the special tours is the company of sighted volunteers who help them understand the place they are visiting. While sharing their experiences, many VI tourists say that the world was a blur, but the volunteers made them see the colors and the whole beauty around them. The experience is mutually blissful as volunteers also learn when they describe something to the VIs”, says Amit Jain, founder, Rising Star Tours and Travels.
Rising Star Tours and Travels organizes domestic as well as international blind trips for Visually Impaired people under their own CSR initiative called “Rising Star Khilte Chehre (RSKC)”. RSKC has organized trips to places, such as Jim Corbett, Mussourie, Jaipur, Goa (domestically) and Thailand, Dubai (internationally). The main aim for organizing these special tours & trips for such special souls is to welcome them to mainstream tourism along with helping them discover a whole new world and become a part of it all with their strong senses. These trips revolve around – “Living Life and being happy even if the circumstances are rough & tough”. RSKC’s vision believes that travel becomes a holistic experience only when we engage all our senses, thus, they continue to organize such experiencing trips every three months in order to help these special people to feel and explore the world at its best!
