Bhavina Patel created history by being the first silver paralympics medallist in Table Tennis. The 34 year old contracted polio when she was just 1 year old. However, nothing could deter this steel willed 34 year old to give India a Silver Sunday..
In the finals, Bhavina lost to China’s Zhou Ying. The Indian paddler had reached the finals by defeating World no 3 Miao Zhang of China and before that the defending Champion Borislava Peric of Serbia.
In her own words, ” I don’t consider myself as disabled, I am always confident I can do anything and today I also proved that we are not behind and para table tennis is as ahead as any other sports.” Congratulations Bhavina!
