Are you too the one, mulling over where to spend few refreshing hours this weekend? The vacay mode is soon going to be on and summer is already on a sizzle. Yes, you heard it right! If you are a Delhiite or if you are visiting Delhi, do consider hitting these hotspots this summer.

The Walk, Aerocity

The just arrived happening hub on Delhi’s entertainment landscape is far away from the clutter yet located in Delhi near to one of the biggest and busiest terminals, T3. Step into aerocity and you feel transported into an infrastructure marvel with swanky and plush open vistas, surrounded by top-of-the-line luxury hotels. At the Walk, you enter into a premium world of retail and some delightful gastronomic destinations. From the hugely popular Cafe Delhi Heights to the pan-asian The Kylin experience, you are spoilt for choice here with expansive food court offering food for every palette. The walk at the aerocity is happening, cosmopolitan and lively yet not over crowded. The added advantage is ample and modern parking space and great metro connectivity!

Madam Tussauds Museum

Even if you have travelled to an international Madam Tussauds, our very own version which primarily features our leaders, Bollywood brigade and sports celebrities, is not something to be missed at. Built inside the historic Regal cinemas , which served as a venue for Ballads, plays and talkies, Madam Tussauds museum is worth a visit on a hot summer day with ample opportunities inside to be photographed besides your favourite icon. There is enough glamour, props and wow factor to be wooed and if you are a selfie lover, then you have hit just the right place! Deepika Padukone’s wax statue is the latest addition to this unique museum.

The Waste to Wonder Park

If clicking selfies and finding a great photo-op is your penchant, then land yourself at this newly developed wonderful park which is open till 11 pm in the night. Brightly lit, clean and beautifully landscaped, this park boasts of replicas of the seven wonders of the world, which are made out of waste material like waste auto parts, car engines, petrol tanks giving an important message of recycling while we continue to face almost a crisis situation of tackling pollution. The replicas are designed to a great level of perfection and already striking a chord with kids and adults alike. So, while planning a vacay to Paris may still be on the horizon, a quick photo shoot with beautifully illuminated Eiffel Tower replica in the neighbourhood is also not a bad idea!

The revamped Old Fort

Enigmatic, historical and still oozing loads of charm, the old Fort is even more majestical now since it is brightly illuminated as part of the signature monuments of Delhi being lit up to boost night tourism. So plan a visit again to Purana Quila when sun is setting and dusk is enveloping this historical mammoth. It’s completely a new look Old Fort with boating lake giving way to splashing fountains which reflect the glory of the ramparts when dazzling lights start illuminating the broken yet boisterous walls of this Fort which was once the vanity of the Mughal empire. Purana Quila is waiting to be explored yet again in breezy evenings this summer!

Sunder Nursery

Last but not the least, Sunder Nursery is the green oasis in the heart of dusty Delhi giving a much needed respite to the tired and stressed eyes and soul. Just adjacent to the iconic Humayun Tomb, Sunder Nursery has been beautifully restored as part of an initiative and is now up and running with its immaculate green lawns, clean pathways and plethora of fountains just waiting to be explored. Spread in acres, this garden has 15 heritage monuments. There is an amphitheatre, where cultural performances are already being orgainised. Reach this hidden gem early morning this summer to listen to the melodious chirpings of many birds, to soak in the greenery with 280 native tree species all around and wind up your early morning walk at this very well maintained garden with a delightful breakfast at a trendy café in the nearby Khan market or some ubercool hotspot of Janpath.
