Haryana government has now decided that all government employees will now wear smartwatches to keep a track and also to mark attendance. This is a move over biometric systems that is usually prevalent but which involves loopholes.
Smartwatches mark a progression from the previous roster and the subsequent biometric system by eliminating loopholes that allowed attendance to be manipulated.
The new system will bring about transparency and accountability in operations, and weed out fake, duplicate and false attendance,
